About EduDaan

EduDaan is a unique campaign under Daan Utsav (Joy of Giving Week) which started from Bengaluru in 2015 to support government schools in urban and rural area. This campaign has quickly developed to a full fledged project and will be spread out to other cities like Delhi starting 2016. This project is enabled with the joint effort of companies and private schools.

The objective of EduDaan is to provide four tier support to the government schools, which undergo detailed survey and visits with the help of volunteers from schools and companies. Post these assessments, the actual implementation stage is initiated in collaboration with various partners who are the Civil Society Organisations working in similar fields.

These four areas of support are: Infrastructure, Better Learning Outcomes, Scholarship and WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene.)

We believe this project will not only offer access and opportunities for the students and teachers at the participating government schools but will also create bridges between the private schools and corporates to start thinking and working with them towards enhancing the educational experience of the children.

We wish EduDaan to become a model project in coming together as one and give our best in providing better learning accessibility; hence promoting the vision of Daan-Utsav, under which it is promoted and propagated.

Even today 70% of our children are educated through the government system.

What started out as a dream in 2015, “supporting children in government schools” resulted in a  unique collaboration of diverse stakeholders to improve facilities and  create a Model Government School.

Corporates, private schools, a group of NGOs, School Development Monitoring Committee and the Government of Karnataka came together as stakeholders-partners.

The program was piloted, governances put  in place, key learnings gathered and best practices established.

Key activities have been identified and plans are in place for  the current government schools and new engagements/ programs.

Support us in the current year, to reach out to many more government schools in Bengaluru and  spread the movement across India.
